Hand-painted Lover's Eye vintage locket pendant, gold plated. The locket has a special feature - a vintage photo of a sailor inside.
This piece of jewelry is a one of a kind, hand-painted by me on a vintage piece of jewelry selected also by me. It's painted with acrylic paint and varnished for protection and signed on the inside of the locket. The piece is 15/16 inch large. It comes with the gold plated chain - 18 inches long.
"The lover’s eye is an 18th century variation on a portrait miniature of a secret love which typically displayed only the eye and eyebrow, sometimes a curl or two of hair or a bit of the side of the nose. Secret love tokens, only the lover and the beloved were aware of the identity of the individual portrayed." This piece comes with a certificate of authenticity in a gift box.
